Shayar Anjum Ludhianvi was born in Chhapar, PB, IN in 1941. From an early age, he had a passion for composition. Determined to pursue his dreams, he went to Mumbai (then Bombay) to make it big in the film industry, Bollywood. However, as destiny was to have its way, Anjum returned to Punjab and started his family & professional life. But he never gave up writing. In Amritsar, he hosted many shows for famous singers like Jagjit Singh, Ghulam Ali, Anup Jalota, etc. In 2001, he published his ghazal book Khushbu Ki Lehrein that was a hit. Till date most of his ghazals have been recorded by many singers. About fifty singers from all over the world have sung / recorded his ghazals including Sonali Jalota, Kavita Seth, Jaswinder Singh Bunty, Ghulam Abbas Khan & Jazim Sharma. Many of his ghazals are available in Urdu, Devnagri & English , on world web cite of Rekhta.com. Some of the singers are ex-IGT (India Got Talent), such as Jazim Sharma, etc.
